Leigh Anne W. Hoover’s journalistic endeavors began with a neighborhood newspaper. Today, her passion for literacy is reflected in all aspects of her life.
A native of South Carolina, and a graduate of Clemson University, Leigh Anne has worked for over 30 years in the media. She is the author of the well-known children’s book The Santa Train Tradition (2008 -Word of Mouth Press) and award-winning Festus and His Fun Fest Favorites (2010 -Word of Mouth Press.) Reading with Ralph—A Journey in Christian Compassion (2013 – Little Creek Books- imprint of JCP, Inc.) is about her adult reading student, and For Better or Worse…Unless Annulment Comes First (2014 – Little Creek Books – imprint of JCP, Inc.) is a memoir and another personal testimony.
She has extensive writing and public relations experience and has published articles encompassing personality and home profiles, arts and entertainment reviews, medical topics, and weekend escape pieces. Notable features include one-on-one interviews with actress Andie MacDowell, artists Bob Timberlake and P. Buckley Moss, New York Times bestselling authors Jan Karon and Mary Alice Monroe, Grammy-winner, singer/songwriter Kenny Loggins, and the 14th president of Clemson University, James F. Barker.
Leigh Anne splits her time between the mountains of East Tennessee and bridgeless Daufuskie Island, South Carolina. She and her husband, Brad, have two adult children and one very spoiled, black Labrador retriever.
In her upcoming debut novel Blue Blood, Leigh Anne takes readers to fictitious Spartina Island, South Carolina. Her characters’ lives are interwoven with the Lowcountry, Gullah culture, the horseshoe crab, and Jesus.
Leigh Anne advocates for reading, especially reading aloud. She also believes writing is a gift and a way to honor God. As an invited speaker, books have provided a platform to share her testimony and God’s love with others.
